The Four Agreements

Author: Don Miguel Ruiz Jr.

Description: This little book is short but powerful. The Four Agreements are spiritual pacts that one must take to live a life of purpose and peace. By applying these four principles to one’s life, you will find that you are able to navigate through life with much more integrity and grace. My favorite of the four agreements is “Be Impeccable with Your Words”. It is the most challenging agreement because I often find myself wanting to just rattle on about things and complain. But when I apply this principle to my life, I find I speak less and struggle to bite my tongue. Struggle as I may, I often prevent myself from saying something that could really damage myself or someone else.

Becoming Supernatural

Author: Dr. Joe Dispenza

Description: My current favorite spiritual teacher is Dr. Joe Dispenza. His work resonates with every part of my soul. In his book, Becoming Supernatural, he teaches his readers about the amazing abilities of their brain and the different functions that it serves. In his scientific work, he gives accounts of the numerous times he’s seen patients overcome limitations in their lives all through the power of their mind. His book features meditation teachings that will help readers reach a more supernatural state through continued practice. His big teaching is about overcoming matter. And his meditations are designed to help the participant become more energy than matter. As everything is made up of energy, the more energy you are able to harness within your self, the more you will be able to alter matter with energy as opposed to changing matter with matter. I find his work fascinating and have experienced a few mystical experiences since applying his teachings.

The Power of Now

Author: Eckhart Tollethe power of now

Description: Spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle teaches the power of presence or as title the book, the power of now. Tolle answers questions about the mind and how it works against us by creating stress and anxiety in the body. The mind does this because it is bound to time. The Power of Now awakens readers to the truth, the power of now. Now is the the current moment. And by focusing all of your awareness in the current moment, you free your mind from the time bound realm. When you live in the now, there is no stress, no worry, and you feel more alive. According to Tolle, this is spiritual enlightenment.

It has taken me years to get to the spiritual space to understand the teachings of Tolle. I find his words in this book to be spot on. When you are accustomed to living in your mind, you miss out on the life happening right in front of you. Upon applying his teachings, I have been freed from worry, stress, and the constant struggle to be somewhere other than the present moment. When I am fully present, it feels as if I am floating in space. I highly recommend this book for those who are ready to live without being bound to time.

I hope these books add value to your lives as they have added to mine. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your opinions about the book, please leave a comment! Thank you for reading.
